The Maui Pink Cap swimmers once again bid farewell to one of our itinerant members as Maggie got ready to return to the mainland.

Unfortunately, two of our members got badly stung by jellyfish and needed treatment. Ow. Thankfully, they warned us slowpokes, keeping the rest of us from harm. Mahalo

Vacation on Maui

Some of the Maui Pink Cap swimmers gathered this morning to help Christine and Doug make the most of their vacation on the South Side of Maui.

Ocean conditions were great and a Green Sea Turtle kept swimming back to play with us.

Click HERE for a couple more photos from this morning's adventure.

Winter is Over

 Winter is over.

The skies are clear, the water is getting warmer, and even the winds have dropped to nothing.

Plus the Spring-Breakers have arrived.

No Longer Dead

My computer died last week and I've been shuffling substandard photos to my blog the past few days - but now I've got a new computer up and running and am back to posting decent photos.

And this morning I got to enjoy a magnificent swim with Maui's Mermaids.

Maui Seldom Disappoints

Recent rain storms have all of South Maui green and waterfalls flowing.

Which doesn't at all affect our blue skies and waters.

Janet's 2019 Birthday Swim

Maui's Pink Cap swimmers met at a different location this morning to celebrate Janet's birthday (and, no, she did not turn 2019 years old).

I always enjoy shaking things up a bit.

Once a Year

Memorable dates, such as the spring equinox, are a prime time for weddings which are being performed all along the coast today.

The full moon also occurs today - this was the moon as seen from my house two nights ago.

And, I spy with my own eye pink cap swimmers swimming by.

More Than Fifty

Maui's Mermaids received a surprise visit from over fifty Spinner Dolphins as we returned from our swim to the Wall this morning. It's always a joy to visit with our dolphin friends.

Indoors or Out

Some photographs absolutely need to be in color (top photo) and others work well in black & white.

The seaside chapel at the Grand Wailea will soon be torn down to be replaced with more revenue-producing oceanfront rooms (middle photo).

Wouldn't you rather be married on the beach anyway?

St Patrick's Day Surprise

http://www.tropicallight.com/swim1/17mar19LP/17mar19LP.html
Some of the Maui Pink Cap swimmers decided to avoid the windy conditions at our usual spot and do some exploring.

We headed out to the Pinnacle, then braved the unknown by swimming through the previously unconquered cave in the Wall. Whoo Hoo! First time experiences all around!

Very Stange Floaty

I was invited out on a boat with friends this morning and got to swim with a White Tip Reef shark.

Also, we discovered this floating in the water where a group of Pilot Whales had recently been feeding.

Subtly Sublime

Sunsets have been ranging from subtly sublime to in-your-face outrageously vivid; and that's okay with me. Bring it on.

This was one of the nicer shoots of an expectant mother that I saw on my morning walk today.

Swimmers Pat and Krysta visited us from the far off island of Oahu this morning, and drove straight from the airport to one of our swim spots.

We saw lots of fishies, a lobster, an octopus, turtles, and upon special request a manta ray.

Click HERE for several more photos of our fun ocean swim today.

Bye Bye Patrick

This morning was Patrick's final swim of the year with Maui's Mermaids as he heads back to his home on the mainland.

Fishies abounded and Al even consented to posing for my camera.

One for the Ages

Last night's sunset (top photo) was one for the ages.

The recent sunsets have been getting progressively better and better, and last night's topped them all.

I wonder what tonight will bring?

Spring Forward and Fall Behind

Much of the country set their clocks forward last night, which means that Hawaii is now an extra hour distant from all of them.

Perhaps because no clocks were changed here, lots and lots of swimmers showed up for an ocean swim this morning. And spirits were riding high.

Click HERE for lots more photos of fun with the Maui Pink Cap swimmers.
