Horray! The ocean is finally beginning to warm up. This morning the top two inches were toasty warm, while everything below that was still quite chilly. So we spent a lot of time on our return floating as close to the surface as possible.
That is what I was asking myself this morning as a Manta Ray swam up to me then turned its belly toward me and hung there. It stayed that way for fully five minutes. Did it want me to rub its belly? Try to remove the Remora? Have sex with it?
This was the second Manta Ray to behave this way with me in the past few months.
I also met some lovely people on my swim, both new and old.
I'm a guy who likes to get out into the ocean several times each week and interact with the creatures I encounter there. I often swim with dolphins, sharks, rays, and whales. Check out my photos on my website: www.TropicalLight.com
