Yet another exquisite morning on Maui.
Having moved here from Chicago, I am still in awe of the weather.
With the exception of two or three days each year, every day on Maui is as beautiful as the most perfect summer day in Chicago.
I love it.

Ignore This Swimmer - Please
Dolphins, dolphins, and more dolphins decided to join me on my ocean swim this morning. They just kept coming. Which was alright by me. Maybe if they pay attention, they might learn something and improve their swim stroke technique. Ummm, or then again, maybe we had better hope they don't.

Multi-Armed Monster
I dove down to swim into the shark cave this morning, when this multi-armed monster emerged from the shadows. I think he was more startled than I was.
I used to use this same camera in years past, but without all the elaborate lighting equipment (there is no way I could swim with all that stuff slung over my shoulder).

Balance is Good
I enjoyed yet another absolutely perfect Maui beach morning today.
And now I get to spend the afternoon and evening in front of the computer turning ordinary photographs into exquisite images.
I have the best possible life.

Happy 45th, Christine
I was fortunate to be invited to join the in-ocean celebration of Christine's 45th birthday (give or take a few minutes). It has been a long time since I've had this much fun on a swim. Click HERE for more photos from this morning's swim.

Hot Water
After a weekend of swimming in icy mountain streams, the ocean felt so very warm for this morning's swim. Oh, and I've posted lots more photos from the weekend - Click HERE to see them.

What A Weekend
Many mahalos to the Maui Pink Cap Swimmers for an amazing weekend of swimming to waterfalls and of jumping off cliffs. What a great time.
Since hundreds of photos were involved, these three are a minute sampling with more to come over the next several days.

I Love Summer
Is the ocean warming up for summer?
It sure felt like it today. I was practically toasty. And that was without a wetsuit. I love summer.

How Rude
What snobs.
This group of Spinner Dolphins came up to me during my ocean swim this morning and chirped, "Oh, it's just him." Then swam away.
They didn't play. They didn't stay and chat. Nothing.
How rude.

Sacrifices Needed
Poor Bruce is looking way too skinny. I haven't seen her in a few months and she's lost a lot of weight. If you have any unwanted family members or pets, I'm sure she would appreciate your sacrifice.

On Your Knees
If you see the acronym S.U.P. (or SUP or sometimes sup), know that it stands for Stand Up Paddling or Stand Up Paddleboard(ing). Even if it is being done on your knees.

Play Date
Sunday ocean swims with the Maui Pink Cap Swimmers are all about having fun. There is plenty of time to be serious during the week, this is our day to play.

Skeletal Remains
That was fast. This golf course near my house has been closed for only two years but already hundreds of mesquite saplings are growing down the center of the fairways. The special golf course grass was replaced by weeds long ago, and most of the non-local trees are now dead skeletal remains.

Very Happy
A very friendly group of Spinner Dolphins joined me on my ocean swim this morning. They simply accepted me as one of the group. I was never popular in school and always feel like an outsider, so being included makes me happy. Very happy.

Dreadful Lawnmower Accident - Again
When am I going to learn to stop trying to operate heavy equipment? A lawnmower, tangled hair, and one thing led to another...

and They're Off
We had a small turnout for our usual Sunday morning swim today, until I saw the crowd of Canadians waiting on the beach. Unlike some of our previous young visitors, they were all very comfortable in the ocean, although maybe a little too ambitious for us laid-back Maui types. I had fun though.
