Suddenly returning to the classroom has been a shock to my system. After all, college is a good thirty years in the past. The tips and tricks I've been learning will make my work better and faster - good stuff. Then came my night class...
I am reminded of advanced physics in college when I suddenly went from wading to drowning. Prior to that class I had skated through school, then suddenly I did not have a clue as to what the professor was saying. Even though he was speaking english, it was an english which I did not know. Help!
Tonight's class about Adobe Photoshop was just like that. The instructor was buzzing along - do this, do that, do this - and I did not know how to do any of those things on the computer in front of me. I was on the verge of tears, I felt so completely helpless and frustrated. Fortunately the tech assistant discovered that my computer workstation was defective and that my computer was doing things differenly than everyone else's computers. Whew! Once I moved to another computer everything made sense again. All was right in the world. And I learned some cool new things.
